Conversations with my Mum

Jun 16, 2011 19:34

Me: What souvenir do you want from Europe?

Mom: Paul McCartney.

Me: *laugh* Something a bit more doable?

Mom: I don't know. Not a key chain.

Me: Why don't I get you a rosary in France?

Mom: *SCOFF*

Me: What!? I like rosaries they're pretty! And getting something Catholic can't be much more French.

Mom: I don't want a rosary.

Me: You didn't want a rock from Canada either and you liked the rock ...

Mom: *makes a face that says "Yes but ...."*

Me: I guess I could get you some tea from England or something. I wanted to get you something a little more lasting than that ...

Mom: I know! Why don't you get me a teacup for my collection.

Me: Would you like the teacup to be French or English?

Mom: Doesn't matter.

We established I can get English tea and a French teacup. No Earle Grey or "PARIS 2011" crap though.

Me: The hostel I'm looking at is pretty nice. If we all get put in the same room it's a two-bed, room. I can share a bed with Alex or Meghan ...

Mom: *nods*

Me: ... either is fine since I've slept with both of them. *JAZZ HANDS*

Mom: *SPLUTTERS*
