So I almost forgot to write about friday night, craziness. Mike and Mel got back together (surprise surprise) and Mel actually wanted people to come over (real surprise). But first, eating needed to happen. Mike, Meg, and I went to Bharma Garden on Irving Park and Kedzie and had some great fake-meat thai food. Really good service too. Plus, it was empty! People don't know good things, which is probably part of it's charm. Anyway, while waiting for entrees, Meg and I played nine men's morris while she simultaneously played chess with Mike. She beat us both. That is fucking impressive. Although, admittedly, I was off my game because I was starving. I'll give her a real challenge next time. After din-din, we headed out to Mel's. Mel has the coolest apartment ever. It's full of books, random art pieces, antiqued pop-culture stuff, and records. Seriously kick ass. All she needs is a better couch. While listening to records, we played ImagineIff... first. This game was a lot of fun. And since all of our names begin with M, we chose celebrities that also had names beginning with M. Mike won, which is crazy, since individually, we all beat him at every game any of us plays with him. Then we played Apples to Apples. This was even MORE fun, and a good way for the rest of us to get to know Mel, and her to know Meg and I. Mike won this game too. Madness, I tell ya. Afterward, Meg was trying to escape, and we stumbled upon a Playboy Playmate jigsaw puzzle from the early 70s. Instantaneously, we all had to put the puzzle together. It didn't take all that long, and was lots of fun. I put the breasts together, that made me happy. I wish I had brought my camera, I'd take a picture and post it. Amazingly, she had all the pieces, so it looked awesome! Meg drove me home, and we got lost in Logan Square at 2 in the am. Girl bonding ensued, then home I was. Joy.
