today has been exhausting, but fulfilling. always a nice combination.
story of the day about how granada makes my life miserable (and don't think this is the only one. oh no, granada makes my life miserable in many ways. but this one takes the cake):
i get out at fifth period. so my 5th period teacher asks me to stay after and help her clean her room during 6th period. being a good kid, i say suuuuuure (after she agrees to give me CSF credit. hey, it's self-interest at work.) so anyways, i'm on my way to the bathroom to get paper towels to clean her DISGUSTING room, and mr. pleasant from allllll the way across the quad starts yelling at me, "young lady, where's your pass??? stop right now!!!!" so i stop and explain to him that i do not, in fact, have a sixth period. here is our conversation (read all of his lines in a growl-esque voice):
-him: "young lady, why are you out of class without a pass?"
-me: "oh, i don't have a sixth period."
-him: "then you have to be off-campus or in the library."
-me: "oh, i'm helping my teacher clean her room--ms. vaidya, the journalism teacher?"
-him: "then why are you out of class?"
-me: "because i need to get some paper towels."
-him: "well next time, get a pass."
-me, in my head, "for the class I DON'T HAVE???"
i was about to start laughing in his face. why do adults (especially the ones in high schools) feel the need to exert such control over teenagers? i don't get it. especially when i'm doing a nice thing, something i'm not obligated/forced to do. who are you to tell me i can't get paper towels to clean? ugh.
thanks again jake for the multiple cds...i'll be sure to return the favor sometime.
and woohoo for me and hypatia figuring out who that band is :) yayyyy for us
