After three weeks of roadtriping I'm finally headed to Alaska tonight!

Here are the roadtrip highlights:

can you explain more on how you made this trip possible. right now there is more than just money standing in my way. but i am in serious envy of what you are doing and getting more and more tempted to make it happen. but i am just not sure how.

i lived with my mom and stepdad for 6 months and worked and didn't spend anything to save the money for it (and for the volunteering).. i also worked a temp job in nyc for a month and slept on friends' couches and made some money that way too..

the three week road trip cost about $1,000 total. we had friends to stay with everywhere we went (if not we would have camped) and did a fair bit of eating out of a cooler in the backseat of the car. i had a job lined up in Alaska before hand so i would have money coming in immediately once i got here.. having friends to split gas money with helps a lot too
