Can anyone help me?
For my "Culture" topic in my Spanish classes, I'm trying to get my (high school) students to open a dialogue about the political and social forces that are playing key roles nowadays...
The first topic they picked is immigration. I'm looking for two good overview articles arguing opposing positions (one for open borders, one for no path to legalization, for example) to have them read to get them started thinking and talking.
So far I've found the NYTimes immigration topic summary of immigration reform in the past 10 years, and summaries of all of the key presidential candidates' positions on immigration... but I'm having trouble finding any really good opion ed. pieces. I'm having just as much trouble with the conservative perspective as the lefty perspective. Does anyone have any ideas??
This is for Friday.
(p.s. next week it's free trade and globalization. I have some things, but if you have anything great archived I'd really appreciate a link to that too!)
