So I mailed the application yesterday! It was a lengthy process (fill out application - get photobooth pictures taken at Tesco - go to uni to get reference letter - put that all in an envelope and send it) but it went smoothly. I even got some info from the admin ladies at the School of Arts regarding my tutor for my dissertation (letter should be coming in June sometime) and the possibilities of failing my Feminism module and whether I can email them my work (yes, I can XDDD which means I don't need to come back just to hand in some stupid essay). So that's one thing out of the way.
We watched more Personal Taste (eps 6-9). SEXUALLL CONFUSSIOOOONNNNN. Well not really, but the uncorrected misunderstanding about the hero's sexual preference leads the heroine to hopelessly pine for a supposedly gay guy who is also pining for her but because he's deceiving her he finds it really hard to tell her the truth and they're both so sad :( Also there's a couple of very sleazy stinky villains (including The Wench™) on whom I demand retribution. Any kind of public humiliation and/or permanent state of misery will do.
Seriously though, Korean society freaks the shit out of me. These people are freakin' INSANE and that's the norm: talking about someone and staring/gossiping about them even if he's a stranger you see on the street or in a store, weird and creepy parent/child relationships, the importance of status... wtf is wrong with these people.
In irrelevant and awesome news, I finally have all of Two Guys and a Girl (and a Pizza Place). Anyone else love this old comedy show? I used to be a total fangirl XD Practically grew up with Ryan Reynolds in my living room, lol. It's really refreshing to see him this young again:
And the show is actually really funny, not painstakingly awkward like a lot of comedy shows out there right now (yes, I'm looking at you, Romantically Challenged). The golden comedy era of the 90s... Good times. :)
We've also made some progress with Supernatural, though I can't sit through an entire non-filler episode without rolling my eyes or scoffing at the idiocy of the screenwriters anymore... The only two decent female characters have just been obliterated, which leaves the series with ZERO recurring women, so three cheers for testosterone central. And the biblical overtones have just turned into attempts to take the Old Testament literally as a history book and I've reached my limit for plothole bullshit :P I can accept the Heaven/Hell dichotomy, God, Lucifer, angels and demons and the [spoiler alert] biblical fight that has to go down with the Winchesters at the centre because of some parallel between Dean/Sam and Michael/Lucifer [/end spoiler]... Despite my doubts I am willing to accept all that for the sake of fictional badassery. But saying that anyone is a decendant of Cain and Abel (which is physically impossible even if they wanted to) is just ridiculous. More ridiculous than Dean's God-finding amulet which he's had for years but had no idea what it was. Team Free Will is adorable, but this whole thing is being handled by a bunch of idiots, clearly, because the concept of a battle between Heaven and Hell is so awesome by itself that it takes an idiot to screw it up by half-assed religious storyline crap.
I miss the good old times when they were just hunting monsters and actually cared about one another. I miss liking Sam. I'm just angry and disappointed at him now and despite the cuteness I think he's an ass and don't give a damn about what happens to him. I don't know, maybe my Dean bias is a little too strong, but I just wish Sam would cut the crap and listen to someone that cares about him for a change :P
Also, that bit with the zombies in Bobby's garage was like a scene from a freakin' video game. "So, two brothers who are also plumbers have to rescue a princess in a pink dress from a bunch of zombies that have surrounded her castle, and they can't use anything but hammers and some hallucinogenic/healing mushrooms. SUPER MARIO: APOCALYPSE NOW. " Perfect pitch, y/y? DX It would so sell.
Anyway. Expo is tomorrow and we're going to go see some people. Not cosplaying though (general lack of money and stuff). Hopefully it'll be an alright day.
ps: Shit we forgot the second Eurovision semifinal yesterday D: We must not miss the final tomorrow! Although I have to say it is so anticlimactic, the songs are all mediocre at best, nothing really stands out. Ah well. It's always fun to mock the really bad ones XD
