look out! it's the flashlight of obviousness!

Suddenly my Hotchner icon is incredibly appropriate. *sigh* And I was thinking of removing it, pahhh.
Will not speak of Criminal Minds spoilers like some have, ruining those last ten seconds for me, and possibly the entire episode as I watched waiting in anguish but I will say that fandom will be on FIRE this summer, it shall be magnificent, I predict.

That being said, I am generally fairly amused by things today.
I met up with Tasha and her carer Fran for lunch at uni. I stopped by HMV to pick up a present for Fran and while there I picked up the BBC Chronicles of Narnia, that wonderful mini-series I grew up with as a kid. It was only £6!! :O Things are going to be really nostalgic :)
Lunch was surprisingly good at the uni bar/restaurant, and cheap, though loud because of stupid people getting drunk before 2pm just because their exams are over. *sigh* These people, honestly. I felt really alienated.
Hanging out with Tasha and Fran was great though. After the long lunch (which also included a particularly delicious chocolate fudge cake) we went back to Tasha's dorm room and played cards. I learned two new games, Crazy 8s and Shithead (which despite its title is actually quite difficult to get a hang of). Was quite fun, managed to take quite a few of Crazy 8 games from Tasha before she started beating me senseless at Shithead, lol.

I left at about 6 and proceeded to the Cult Film Society meeting, which is basically run by Alan, the amusing guy who came up with the Cultalienism movement, and therefore Robert and Emily are always there, and the rest of the members are all people I know from some activity or other (mostly anime club or theatre workshop crew members). We saw a horror (?) film from the 50s, Alligator People. The commentary from Alan, Robert, and Paul (dude who listens to hardcore heavy metal but dresses like he's from the 1940s at best) made the film so much more bearable enjoyable. As much as I like hanging out with these people though, I doubt I'm going to be a frequent visitor to the Cult Film Society. For one, the time clashes with the Thursday theatre rehearsal, which if all goes well I'll need to attend every week. Luckily, hahaha. Two, I'm not too big on the Cult scene. It's good fun to hang around these people though, so amusing.

We went to the uni pub afterwards, and discussed what we'll be writing for our Cultalienism project over the summer. We decided to write one story each, novella-length, if you will, which we will then take and combine into one book, splitting the parts and mixing them up. Each person gets a different font so continuity is maintained, though the reference rule still applies. Alan mentioned something about making the references Marvel-style, like having characters mention the title of the other person's story as something he/she has read or something like that. I found that very interesting. We're going to self-publish that book through Lulu, and give it to the uni library to put under the Student Works section. XD We might come up with a collective pseudonym, but we're not sure what to do exactly. We'll see.

Alan was incredibly witty again today and said the following memorably funny things:
- the flashlight of obviousness (the one in every crime show where the characters point it towards areas that are already light enough anyway, and of course they don't flick the switch, why would they need to do that :P)
- the loaded shotgun of persuasion (a viable way to end any discussion, apparently)
- we're beginning to grasp each other's sense of humour, he says, something I find quite comforting :)

I had to leave though because it was getting late, but I'm probably seeing them all again tomorrow ^^

So when I came home I signed on to MSN, and Kostas totally got mad at me because I never check my Hotmail account and he'd sent me two emails in the past couple of weeks and thought I was writing him off. Granted, I've let him down some times in the past, but I'd never write him off. I was actually thinking quite a bit about him lately, because I've missed playing RPGs and stuff and I was listening to music that reminded me of my RP characters for Exalted and stuff. >_< Felt pretty miffed that he was mad at me. yunu cheered me up by praising my work for the skit (which hasn't even registered as work, to be honest, though I have been very busy with it, but it's been fun so I don't mind) and by sending me this and this. Lol especially @ the second one, oh France~~ XD

Also, random but check out the new Sherlock Holmes trailer. When did good ol' Sherlock become this interesting (as in, non-dull), or this absolutely positively gay with Watson? It's like I can smell the slash before the movie even comes out. Hell, I want to write it. *is shot* And with the cast they've picked, all I have to say is unfff. The whole endeavour lies too far to the epic side though, more than is appropriate in my opinion. What do you guys think?

Tomorrow! Night at the Museum 2!! Should be funny as hell :3
We're also meeting with the anime club committee people again, and then with Emily, Alan and Robert for post-exam-tomfoolery :D

I need to sleep before Expo. D'oh! As if I'd have the time. :P
