Hey Dad,

So, I was talking to Mom last night about Camn's kiddos. We spent yesterday in the slides and river at the resort. It was so pretty. Absolutely beautiful grounds. The water was warm, it rained. Reminded me of that trip we took to Disney for my 9th birthday. If I remember correctly, we headed back to the room when I soaked my shoes on Splash Mountain and you and Mom let me swim in the rain while my shoes dried. I think the 4 of us all jumped in. Mom said that she loves swimming in the rain and I've never forgotten it. Anyway, Camn's kids didn't want me to leave at the end of the day (they're so cute!) and her 2yo asked a few times where my Daddy was. I told her you were at your house. When she asked where exactly you lived, I just told her you have your own home, and that I go home to my own house where my hubby lives, just like her Mommy and Daddy. I was telling Mom that I think Camn had an "oh gosh" moment went her 2yo asked, and that while it isn't a punch in the gut anymore when kids ask me that, it still catches me for a sec. She caught that more than one kid has asked me "Where's your Dad?", so I explained that yes, typically kids that spend more than a few minutes with me ask that specifically. It's funny too because I don't talk about you guys in front of them. I typically don't have reason to. She pointed out that they never ask "where's your Mom?". In the two most recent instances, the kids asking me have married parents, so there's no reason for them to think I'd come home to just one of my parents.

We've talked a bit about children and their ability to see/feel spirits and she thinks maybe that's the case here. R sometimes blows you kisses, and mom walked in on him playing airplanes with you when he thought no one was nearby. We try to encourage it in hopes that it stays with him. I can think of 3 specific instances with 3 different kids that have asked me "where [my] Daddy" is. All of them under 5. Just something interesting.

Remember that trip to Disneyland? We stayed at the park as the rain came down, hopping on the rides as everyone else left. Salsa and I just had to go on Splash Mountain. I remember climbing up the track in the coaster, telling Salsa I had motion sickness. She laughed. I was in the very front and she was right behind me. On the way down she bonked my head into the front of the coaster and then we got SOAKED. Of course then I got cold, and Mom thought my shoes needed to come off. You put me on your shoulders for the walk back to the hotel. Honestly, that's all I remember of that trip, but I remember it so fondly. It makes me smile every time and I always think about it when I swim in the rain.

I love you Dad.
