Hiya, nice to see that you've taken an interest in local politics. Just to let you know when I was doing my teaching practice at Danum High School, Peter Davies was the head of Relgious Education. At that time he shacked up with an ex-sixth former and left his wife. He was also known to leave his lesson for a quick bet at the local bookie. I don't know what moral high ground he can stand on. Last time I saw him he told me he has left his ex-student and gone back to his wife.

This is quite ridiculous. Before long, everyone will start to yearn for the good old days before the English Democrats. I am amazed that such an unknown party managed to win. I don't think that he'll be as successful as the last unknown candidate to become mayor: H'Angus the Monkey in Hartlepool is now in his third term.

Most of his policies are inappropriate to being mayor. It's not as if Doncaster can leave the EU on its own.

We shall be joking about Peter Davies for four years to come.

As long as we're not crying into our beers about him for four years to come... And yeah, I say get Donny Dog in! He might be a bit focussed on canine welfare but he'd still be better than all the candidates going.

Hmm, interesting interview on Radio Sheffield. Anyone reading who hasn't seen/heard it yet, there's a transcript here too: http://andys.org.uk/b/2009/06/08/a-whole-lot-of-nothing/... )

Yeah, I agree with him on the funding thing - apparently the gay pride organisers were going to run it this year without funding anyway (not sure if that's a backlash sarky comment to him being elected though) - and the PC job thing, it's just that he's SO SO SO UNPREPARED. It's fucking scary. I mean, seriously, you'd've thought he'd do some research into this! Also the English Democrats themselves are damn scary, I think they're a more extreme UKIP whilst just falling short of the BNP. I suppose you could say he didn't think he had a chance of winning so didn't bother doing a proper job of it. And he thought going on the radio and the telly in such an unprepared state would be a fine thing to do! Idiot. Maybe he'll get better with time, I mean it'll be hard to be worse than Martin fucking Winter.
