A few days off from work for winter break and I get invested in soaps once more. Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in . . .

If they actually do that, I might go back to watching it (I gave it up a few years ago, I got bored).

Maybe? Hopefully! There's been talk about it on the boards and blogs but who really knows? The actor came out publicly this year so maybe TPTB at Y&R will give him a gay storyline. I don't know for sure though since Kevin has been with several women, very committed and all. But one can hope!

I think they were taking Noah in that direction until the shifts in power at the show the last 2 years. There's also been talk that they'll make Fen gay. It's sad that the #1 soap does not have a gay character.

Yeah, I read about Noah and was disappointed that nothing happened there.

A year and a half ago, he was 8 or 9 years old. Now he's a high school graduate with a drug habit. He's done time in jail....I thought for sure all the inmates were going to have a piece of him, but the writers sideskirted that option. I blame all of his problems on such a rapid SORAS.

Summer was about 7 years old 2 years ago, but she is also now a high school graduate and a top model! Even more amazing is Kyle, who went off to hockey camp a little over 2 years ago when he was about 12 and came back grown up and a Harvard graduate!

Soaps ---- you gotta' love 'em! Or they'll drive you crazy!

Oh, I didn't know Greg Rikart came out - that's awesome!

Hmmm, I don't know, they had Rafe as gay for a while and sort of toyed with Adam and him being a thing but then they backed way off that.

I would love to see Greg do a gay story line (though yes, I remember and loved him with several girls, so I don't know how they'd do that).

I think the Rafe/Adam thing was conceived to jump on the bandwagon back when there were prominent gay couples on other soaps. It went nowhere, after all.

Yeah, Kevin has had some nice relationships but even he and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe, his current girl) think their characters are not a great couple on the show.

Yeah, I agree - they were totally bandwagon jumping but then realized they'd have to actually give the gay characters screen time and love interests and they ran away with their tail between their legs. Y+R and B+B have always been conservative, imo.

I really loved him with Jana (sigh), but I'm so/so on him and Chloe (wow, they're still together? that's nuts), so I'd be okay with him falling for a guy. I'm not sure what I think about Alex - he mumbles. A Lot (at least from the clip you have on there).
