Whoa, 5 weeks

Since graduation, I moved home and was stuck in dial-up land for a while. Considering that it took full games of FreeCell and/or Spider to load up the friends page, I only got an occasional glance of LJ.

I finally moved into my apartment last weekend and got internet a couple of days later. Not much in the furniture department yet.... still recuperating from moving costs and bed cost. >< So expensive for a bed!

This is the closet. It's huge.... like twice the size of the closet I had as a freshman in college. So it's no wonder I don't have enough clothes to fill it up. The next picture is my bathroom. I really like my shower curtains. It was either this or penguins, but I decided on fishies instead.

Another view of the bathroom and the bedroom. I now have a bed in there, and I still have a lot more space than I thought I'd have.

This is the living room, in all its unfurnished glory. There's a patio which currently serves for as clothes dryer. The stand is from the good old days of college!

Here's the problem. There's another apartment which I face, and their door is directly opposite the patio (you can see the railing for the stairs in that pic). Twice now I've seen a couple of dudes staring into my apartment, once at me, while walking up. When I was cleaning the window in my room, I saw this lady stare at me through the window too. It was a bit eerie since she stared as she walked by, and then stared some more as she walked past again. (I've since learned that we share an entry way - her door is across from mine. I wonder if they group the tenants. On my floor, it's Asian lady - Indian man - Indian man - me. The downstairs apartments are all Latino or black.) I think it's just new-neighbor nosiness, but still, I don't really want anyone staring at me sprawled out on the floor like I have been. Anyway, I've been keeping the blinds about 3/4 closed most of the time, but it's dark in here that way. I need to figure out how to put curtains up with vertical blinds.

This is the kitchen, and really, what I consider the weakest part of the apartment. It's kinda small, but most importantly there is very little in terms of cabinet/drawer space. There are technically a lot of cabinets, but they are quite small. Only one set is large enough to accommodate pots/pans and most are too short to even fit a bottle of soy sauce. I'll make do, but I realized there were only 2 drawers in the entire apartment. One in the bathroom and one in the kitchen.

The last picture is my chair! I have no furniture and was sitting on the floor for a while, but that hurt my butt. Then the temp went up to the 90's and 100's so sitting on carpet became even more painful. Therefore, my makeshift chair!

Last week was ACLS training, and we got to meet most of the other interns in the class. It went ok for the most part; only one person kinda stood out as possibly difficult. Maybe it was just that it was ACLS training. My patient was the onyl one during the test who died :( but I was the last to go and the instructor did it to prove a point (ie, we can't save everybody). I learned that I should not do CPR on a guy who's being paced unless I want to end up in a hospital bed myself. XD

So so so so so hot. It went up to 100 yesterday and will do so again today. :( I can't wait till Monday when the fog returns.

Anyway, new address posted here: http://sleepcat-00.livejournal.com/45395.html Of course, the entry is locked. :)
