"What do we always say comes first?" "Breakfast...?"

Things are going really, really well with Greg (cue huge sigh of relief). Our Valentine's Day celebration in Asheville was incredible -- our own private cabin with hot tub and fireplace, going ziplining through tree canopies, checking out the brew & view, touring downtown Asheville (Earth Science Museum!), making our own White Russians, and spending every minute together... It was perfect. Even the road trips there and back were fun. The only problem was how short it was: we left Tuesday morning and returned Thursday afternoon. Yuckkkk. But then I got to spend practically this entire past weekend with him, Haley, and Alina, because their parents are out of town. So I got to play "Mommy" which, for me, was like living out a fantasy (for other girls I suppose it might be a nightmare). Last night Greg and I folded his laundry while Haley watched Batman cartoons. It felt really nice. Maybe someday I'll have a family...until then, I get to pretend.

1. OK Go, "WTF" -- "It's like a skydive, or gettin' high, the kind of thing that'll maybe kill ya"
2. Eels, "Beginner's Luck" -- It's still kind of the beginning for us. But we're lucky? Or something? I love this song, and this band.
3. Fiona Apple, "On the Bound" -- "You're all I need..."
4. The Cure, "Love Song" -- Need I explain?
5. Deer Tick, "These Old Shoes" -- Really sweet love song about doing anything to get to your lady/man.
6. Dead Man's Bones, "My Body's A Zombie For You" -- I found out after falling in love with this song that it's Ryan Gosling's band, and he has a really impressive voice.
7. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, "Home" -- "Home is wherever I'm with you..."
8. Akron/Family, "The River" -- I kept wanting to include this on mixes for other people, 'cause it's a great track, but then I would look at the lyrics and reconsider.
9. Peter Bjorn & John, "Young Folks" -- Since the first time I heard this song I wanted so badly to relate to it and feel that way about someone. It was always the epitome of crush songs, for me.
10. Save Ferris, "I Know" -- So sweet :)
11. mc chris, "First Date" -- Because we share a love for all things mc chris.
12. CAKE, "Love You Madly" -- Speaks for itself.
13. No Doubt, "Big Distraction" -- Same as #9: I always wanted to feel this way about someone, since the first time I learned the words as a middle schooler and belted them out at the top of my lungs.
14. Madcon, "Beggin'" -- I thought about using the original Frankie Valli version, but the sound quality was terrible, and Madcon's cover is actually incredible.
15. M. Ward, "Never Had Nobody Like You" -- Really sweet, kind of country, very hokey, all good.
16. Ben E. King, "Stand By Me" -- Says it best.
