Well, I didn't know when, or even IF it would happen but it seems it has:
I've lost interest in my LiveJournal.
I know. I'm just as surprised as you are. Since I decided to get on with living my life instead of chronicling its every detail, I've not only been happier, but I've expanded real-life friendships, I've had more time to do fun stuff and I've been way less self-absorbed. It's kinda cool.
That aside, I guess the function now of this thing is to keep you all up to date on what's happening in my life.
1. Mike
He's currently away on the last five and a half days of a nine-day fishing expedition to Lake Jindabyne in the Perisher Valley with his brother and some mates. He'll be back nex Sunday, and although he said he probably wouldn't call me, I've had messages on most days since he left and a few calls. He's so ace! He's moving house soon, too, so he'll have his own space and hopefully feel more at home, relaxed and comfortable. He'll also be way closer to work and won't have to drive for months to get anywhere. I love him very much.
2. Work
Going well, keeping me busy. I'm still not in the routine of all the getting up and leavingness that has to be done to keep the job by not being late, but I'll get there. I'm enjoying the challenge of learning new job skills. The only downfall of that is that the skills are largely non-transferrable. Oh well. Today, I'm applying for some more freelance-type work as a copy/content writer for a media/sales firm. The work is based at home, which I like. We'll see. That's only supplemental to Telstra, of course, but it's more inline with the career path I'm considering of technical writing. Fingers crossed!
3. Health
Sucks. Having CT scan on my neck before getting a referral for more chiro/physio. The constant headaches, neck stiffness and soreness and dizziness are finally getting to be too much. Blood tests, too, to make sure I'm not malnourished or being poisoned by PBVW. Will update when I get results next week. Whee fun. I'm back to eating sensibly again, and Mike and I worked with his housemate, who's a personal trainer last Monday. It nearly killed us, but afterwards I felt fantastic! We're gonna do a few more sessions. So far, I've lost one of the three kilos I regained... leaving seven to go until I hit the Next Goal.
4. Thesis
Going.
That's the best that can be said. I have a better mental idea of what I'm doing so that's a start. Now I just have to get the mental into the computer. I'm setting small deadlines to achieve things by, and I met the first one well. Fingers crossed on that one too. *sigh* Can't wait til it's over!!!
5. Home
I still live here. Things still vary between barely bearable and utterly unreasonable. Bother has been a total ARSE lately, refusing to clean his dishes and help around the house at all, but Ma's been really good. Same old, same old.
6. Sassy
Poor Beejil does need an operation on her cruciate ligament. Most likely, that will occur next Wednesday 17/5. Fingers, toes, legs, eyes and everything else that's crossable crossed for that. Poor wookiee.
7. Hobbies
Made a bunch of jewellry lately, started making Ma's birthday scrapbook with some of the stuff Mike got me for myy birthday. It's fun!
Am also hooked on Sudoku puzzles. And eBay. Sold a few things on eBay including my purple Docs, and got a happy amount of cash for it. Yay.
That's all.
If you want me, you know where to find me.
