I know I have at least one person on my flist who is west coast US. I'm worried for them, it's the middle of the night there and they probably have no clue at all what's going on. It's so easy to be in the dark about events even in this day of easy access to information.
I'm sending so many good vibes to any one who's affected by the events in Japan or in the warning areas (and anyone who is feeling it deep in their hearts like I am). Hawaii have had tremors all morning too and it's so worrying that it could be building to more. What the hell is happening with the planet. And, is it disturbing to anyone else that one of the reports from Japan said "I thought it was just another quake", it's such a common thing. But seriously, 8.9 is massive and it's scary as hell. It's also scary that they've had aftershocks that the news channel isn't even talking about (it's not the main quake that could bring the buildings down, that just does the initial structural damage but then the aftershocks on top of that...). But of course, the big disaster is the Tsunami. It's just so all engulfing.
32 confirmed dead, but it'll take days for things to settle enough to know for sure, though it looks like the water has already started to recede (though it's hard to get live indication of that they're all about showing the surge of water).
Please let me know you're safe if you're in the Tsunami warning zones.
