Lots of pictures and a lot of text.. at least for me..
Oh my gosh, I totally forgot how stinky "regular" cat poo is.
Vlad is eating some canned food while I'm making the switch over to the
RAW diet that tiber is on, and his poo is STINKY! that's +1 for
raw food! I told polo if we could not tell a difference in Vlad
once he was switched over to the diet i think is better for both cats,
then I would give up and purchase the "cheaper" food.
Okay back to the good stuff!
After a long ride on the ferry we finially reached the shelter.. filled
out all the paper work, gave the lady 75 bucks (50 for Vlad and 25 for
him being microchiped), they bring him out and plop him in the carboard
box. He was soo scared.. the poor thing was shaking and going in
circles in the box. It was raining and cold out so we got into
the car as fast as possible and on the way out they hinted that leaving
him in the box would be the best thing for him. He wanted
out! As soon as we got in the car, I opened up the box and just
held on to him. Poor baby was still shaking. He had no idea
what was going on... It seemed like they gave him a bath, as he wasn't
QUITE as stinky and sticky as he was when we saw him, but he still was
shedding like crazy. I was just holding him telling him it was
okay and petting him and in less than 5 minutes he had calmed down and
just laied in my lap. He was very alert to the car and what where
we were going but he realized we weren't going to be poking at
him. At that point I decided to comb him. I'm SOOOoo glad I
brought my flea comb. I can't believe how much hair I combed out,
and I found 9 fleas on him. 8 right off the bat, and one latter
all down near his rump. They said they put advantage on him, but
either they JUST put it on him, or they didn't use enough. By the
time we were back on the ferry to go home he his fur was all shiny from
the gromming.
We then went to Polo's parents to pick up the extra litter box and a
few other thigns we forgot, and found out that the collar we bought him
was too small. So while Polo was in his parents house I let Vlad
explore the car.
First he went to the back of the car and jumped up in the back
window. This is Tiber's favorite hang out spot when we
drive.
He sniffed around up there, seemed to know it wasn't a good place to
make "his spot" and jump back down and went to the drivers seat
and made himself at home
Polo came back to the car, we discovered we JUST missed the ferry, and
had enough time to go to the next town over and return the collar that
was too small. While waiting for polo to do that errand, Benji was
getting a little tired of sitting in the car all day, so I laid my
chair down so I could interact with him more and gave him the camera so
he could take pictures of Vlad.. Vlad decided he wanted ot cuddle, and
came over next to me.. ploped himself down next to me and scooted his
but over.. here's that picture from benji's view (remember he's only 2
1/2). Oh and benji gave him some jerky cat treats while we were
waiting.. he only ate two of them. they're about teh size of a
penny.
Vlad and Tiber are both mellow cats, but Tiber is very careful and
deliberate about where he sits or lies down. Vlad just throws
himself down.
He even cuddled up next to benji in the car seat! Tiber does his
best to stay away from him. It almost loosk like they're both
sleeping (a little goffy), but benji just blinked his eyes. oh by
the way, benji had to wear his lion suit.
The rest of the ride home was pretty uneventful. We got on the
ferry, stayed inside the car and vlad kept visiting each of us and
cuddling.. people would walk buy and sometimes he'd be interested and
other times he'd ignore them.... I kept grooming him. Then this
one guy walked by and he BOLTED under polo like this guy used to beat
him.... .. Makes me wonder what his first two years were like in
life. Took us a bit of coaxing but he finially came out.. Once we
finially reached seattle we were stuck right in the middle of rush hour
traffic... Thankfully, benji fell asleep, but traffic was so bad he
woke up just before we reached the university district and was soo sick
and tired of being in the carseat all day that he finially had it and
started crying. He wouldn't respond to anything cause he just
wanted OUT! Vlad went back to check on him, but that didn't even
get a response from him.. but we finially made it home.... I
would have had more pictures in the car, but the batteries died.. (UGH
I JUST CHARGED THEM THE NIGHT BEFORE).
To Be Continued...
