If You Asked Me To...

Sorry, I'm in a Céline'ish mood...it happens to everyone...don't deny it...

So it's been about a week'ish and not much has happened. Work last week went by really fast, which was a good start to the work 9-5 all summer grind. I've been training this new kid named Tom, so that's been taking up most of the time.

I didn't have to work Friday last week so right after work on Thursday I drove back to Mansfield to see Nic. I love rotting with him and it's just a good relaxing habit I've been getting myself into. Too bad it costs a tank of gas each time I go, but oh well. Then on Friday I came back home and me, Chris, Jonno and Leah went to Chili's (again) and spent a lot of money on presidenté's (again) and then we made a drunken/buzzed Target shopping trip. I love Target.

The next morning, bright and early...literally...5 am...I woke up and got ready for the family-filled weekend in Vermont. The drive wasn't so bad, but my grandmother and father alerted me to every speed limit sign. 'Twas highly annoying. The rest of the weekend involved me on a roof two stories off the ground, tearing it apart and preparing for a new one to be put up. I hate manual labor and I got the worst farmer's tan ever. Ugh! I shouldn't be doing things that make me look straighter in my family's eyes. Or I should've just blasted Madonna on the roof and vogue'd my way from rafter to rafter, dancing with my power tools in hand...

Anyway...one thing I did enjoy was spending time with my mother, whom I haven't seen in forever because she goes to Vermont every weekend. In our quality time together, I talked her into buying me a new computer. So now I'm torn between a PowerMac G5 and a PowerBook. Laptop or desktop? Decisions, decisions...

Sidenote: Hello, summer. It's boiling in my room right now and I haven't stopped sweating profusely since last Thursday.

Some changes I welcome with open arms, such as school ending and not having to go to class. Some changes you kinda just have to suck it up and deal with, like living on the opposite side of the state from your boyfriend. And some changes just make life weird. Anthony is moving out of the apartment for "good" soon and it's just going to be strange not living with him. For all the better or for worse moments we've had, I've still been living with him pretty much for over a year. And then Chris is moving out to a new apartment a little later on this summer and he's been my roomie since freshmen year. Ok, I need to stop. I'm getting sentimental. It's all because I just watched A League of Their Own and it always makes me emotional. I'm a sucker for reminiscing. Like when the summers used to be fun...me, Eric, Trista, Kim, James, Chris, Steph, Laura, Micky, Jer, Nichole, Heather, etc....Ok, I need to stop...

Speaking of blasts from the past, I think Joey may be coming for a visit this weekend. Whenever he comes, I have to pre-warn him that things have changed. It used to be, "Well, it's gonna be hard to get everyone together to hang out because we see each other very little." And now I have to tell him, "Umm, nobody's friends anymore, so it's just gonna be you and me."

Fuck. I might be buzzed. I gotta go finish up some laundry, then head back to the apartment. Keep it real, fo' sho'...
