Menolly is copying music in her quarters.
This is not supposed to be her job, but she’s happy enough to do it for Master Jerrint. Her right hand is starting to cramp lightly - she’s made two copies. They are of one of her songs. One of these copies, she’s vaguely amused to recall, will be going to Half Circle Sea Hold.
She finishes writing the last word of the third copy, and fans it lightly in the air to allow the ink to dry. Then she picks up the next clean sheet of wood pulp paper and begins writing again.
