So I had 2 big events occur yesterday and today, so here's my quick and dirty summary. First off, this morning I had an interview at Investor's Group, after they picked my resume off of Workopolis and contacted me, and this likely should have been my first red flag. So I go in only knowing that the position is entitled "Financial Advisor", only to find out that the position is paid out as 100% commission and would literally entail setting up my own private financial services firm under the IG name. How they imagine a 23 year old fresh out of university wanting to do this I will never know, so the interview ended very quickly needless to say.
In better news, yesterday I had my day in small claims court in regards to the stolen jacket. After the typical Judge Judy-ish presenting of the case, the 'judge' deliberated for 10 minutes in her chambers while the Brio and WAG reps, Mike and I sat around in complete silence. Honestly at this point I pretty much assured myself that I wasn't going to win, because honestly I didn't feel that I did. Though it turns out that I did win judgement against the Brio, but not the WAG, which is pretty the best conclusion that I could picture.
However, no they didn't just cut me a nice check for $370 ($340 jacket + $30 filing fee), the Brio now has 30 days in which to file an appeal and if they do so we have to present the case AGAIN in front of an actual judge in actual court. I'm hoping the fact that they'd have to pay a lawyer to do so influences them to just fucking cough up the money. If you want more detail regarding the hearing just talk to me in person, there is so much stuff to remember that happened that I'd probably forget most of it.
