So people have been kind of DEMANDING I post some sort of rec list. I can't stick to individual stories, mostly, because there are far too many of those. But I can recommend authors, and this list will grow as I remember more:

Not wanting to be a jerk or anything, but you REALLY, REALLY should. For one, cause some ppl (like me) are really sensitive to stories where ppl lose their partners, and two, because sometimes ppl (again, like me)
go read slash looking for a distraction from their worries and sorrows, big or small, and hitting smn in the head with smth as tragic as death when all they wanted was some fluff to make their day a little better is almost cruel. I'm sorry if I sound like a b*tch, it's just that sometimes these little things are the worst, cause they're unexpected. Like, I expect to get upset at work or when reading the Humanist mailing list and seeing all the fundamentalist crap out there, but I do not expect to get upset when I'm in the confort of my home reading love stories abt fictional characters.
Now that I'm out of my soapbox:
I mean Casey's person should come with a warning. Cause it goes like this on Gtalk:
- Casey: I have this idea for a fic.
- Me: Okay.
- Casey: Begining of the story.
- Me: Cool
- Casey: - Most depressing thing I could ever imagine.
- Me: NOOOO! Why would you do that?!
- Casey: Depressing thing that's even more depressing than the thing said before.
- Me: You.should.come with a warning!

YES I KNOW. I KNOW SHE DOES THE SAME TO ME. SOMETIMES EVEN I, WHO CONSIDERS MYSELF A HUGE ANGST-MONGER AND THRIVES ON SAD FIC, AM JUST LIKE "WHAT DID YOU JUST DO TO ME RIGHT NOW CASE". STILL I LIKE THE LACK OF WARNING. IT HONES MY SENSES SO I AM OKAY WITH THINGS NOW.
