Yea, so I wrote to Rep Peter King here in Nassau County to tell him I oppose both SOPA and ProtectIP laws back during all the hoopla, and he sent me the following reply email like a month later in which he DEFENDS SOPA and ProtectIP. Eat a AIDS infested cock Peter King, cause your an out-of-touch old republican who needs to be replaced.

Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting me with concerns about H.R. 3261, the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) of 2011.

There has been misinformation circulated about what SOPA would do if enacted. Some have said it would prevent aspiring artists like Justin Bieber from posting YouTube videos where they sing another artist's song, while others claim it would enable the government to shut down any website officials don't like. Some have even alleged that SOPA would result in entire sites being taken down if a single page or link was infringing upon copyrighted material. These claims are entirely untrue.

SOPA is designed to modernize protections for America's intellectual property (IP) and combat the illegal distribution of counterfeit goods via foreign rogue websites. SOPA would do the following:

o Authorize the U.S. Attorney General to seek injunctions against foreign websites that steal and sell American innovations and products. It requires foreign sites to be treated the same way U.S. sites are treated today under current law. It makes no sense to treat foreign sites engaged in crime better than U.S. sites engaged in the same criminal activity.

o Increase criminal penalties for individuals who traffic in counterfeit medicine and military goods, which put innocent civilians and American soldiers at risk.

While negotiations are underway regarding certain provisions of the legislation, the reality is that legislation is necessary to protect Americans against the theft of our intellectual property and prevent severe damage to our economy. Firefighter and police organizations are supportive of this bill because fraudulent goods are often faulty and can cause fires and physical harm to unsuspecting U.S. buyers. Internet theft and piracy cost the U.S. economy more than $100 billion annually and result in the loss of many thousands of American jobs. At a time when Americans are struggling to make ends meet, I will continue to support legislation that protects U.S. employment and innovation.

Sincerely,
PETER T. KING
Member of Congress
