Lush seems to have really good hair products - I tried some recently, and I loved how soft and easy-to-manage it left my hair! I definitely don't think you can go wrong with that.
Although, you know, when I was a kid, my Mom actually had me try Hartz DOG Shampoo to treat my scalp, and I don't know if it worked so much, but it smelled very strong, but she always claimed it did help my hair. I don't think I'd recommend that, though! I don't think they even make it anymore (it was green, and smelled like pine trees). @_@
I've never used conditioner, unfortunately, because I'm usually too lazy to use it ;b! Moreover, I need to use this shampoo twice at once (i.e. lather, rinse, repeat) in order for the flakes to wash away, so I'll be even lazier to use a conditioner ;P!
I was lazy, too, but using conditioner really helped improve the quality of my hair. :D I usually wash, rinse, slather it on, wash my body, and rinse it off. Takes only a couple of minutes! It should help with the stinky campire smell. :D
Snugglies! Actually, coal is supposed to be good at attacking flakes and dandruff. And maybe you could try an emu oil shampoo, but skin-patch test it first. Have you tried the lemon-juice-in-water suggestion yet?

I know, but the coal tar shampoo gives my scalp pimples ;(!
I've been trying to find an emu oil shampoo 'live' around here, but I haven't had any luck yet =/. I think I'll have to look online for it. Yup, I'm drinking freshly squeezed lemon in water daily too!
Aw, poor thing! (snugglies) If you do find the emu shampoo - and it is available from a bunch of online places - get the ingredient listing. If you can't pronounce, identify, look up or like any of the ingredients, put it back. Hey - try Miracell too, which may necessitate another online trip. It's a concoction of oils, extracts and vitamins that penetrate and soothe irritated skin. I think it's like $10 an ounce, or something like that.

Do you use a conditioner? I would follow up with one, so that you aren't taking huge whiffs of Soak and Float. :D
