I'm taking advantage of the fact that I actually have TWO free hands at the moment, to update my long forsaken LJ! ;) So often lately when I get some computer time I'm holding Evan in one arm and trying to type with just the other hand, hehe. But he's currently fast asleep in my lap with his head on his teddy bear, so I'm two-handed. He has one hand up shading his eyes from the light, it's so cute. Alessandra took a picture with her phone so I'll have to get her to send it to me.
ANYway... Evan was 2 weeks old yesterday! I can't believe it's only been a short 15 days since he was born. I have to break down and get a baby book so I can start recording all the little things that have been happening. His belly button thingy (does that have a name??) fell off a week ago Friday, the scab on his head from the suction came off last weekend (with my help), he's had his first sponge baths, but not a real bath yet (hopefully tomorrow!), I banged his head into a door for the first time today (bad Mom!), I put him in his moby wrap for the first time today (he likes the tummy to tummy position, goes to sleep right away), of course his bilirubin issues he had where we had to put him on a uv light for a couple days, the poor guy... what else... lots of outings already... target, costco, uptown espresso, grocery store, uw to visit my work, dog park for dog-o-ween... I had a guy come up to me in the grocery store amazed that I was able to get out of the house already at only 2 weeks. He said something about his baby being 10 1/2 months and they were only now getting to the store, hehe. Of course I think he was exaggerating a bit, but still people do seem pretty surprised.
Trying to get the sleep schedule down, but I'm sure once we do Evan will just change it up again. Last night he just didn't want to settle down in his co-sleeper, so I dozed on the couch with him from around 11 to 4... then woke up and was really awake so watched tv with him on me until around 7, then got super sleepy again and took him to bed. I imagine I'll be crashing any minute now. ;) It is pretty amazing how well you can function on only a few hours of sleep though! Crazy.
