Better Things
Well, yesterday was a bit of a venting I must say. I'd feel bad about it, but I can't bring myself to do so. Oh well.
I hope to find some solutions to the problems associated with homelessness and the truth is somewhere in between the two extreme views of A) It is the fault of the homeless and B) it is not the fault of the homeless.
Plenty of people are scumbags, lacking most any virtue, and that applies to the housed and unhoused alike. Plenty of people are homeless because they are lazy inconsiderate fucks who find that living on the edge suits their IDGAF attitude.
Personally, IDGAF, sometimes sort of, but also, "The Enemy's Public, they really give a damn." So, I vascillate.
So far I've been to an AHHA meeting, a county meeting regarding the Housing Element update which is mandated by the state and I've also gone through volunteer orientation at Food for People and did a shift there, though truth be told I didn't do much besides pick up outside and sweep the floor of purple onion skins. Apparently a football team volunteered over the weekend and knocked out a lot of work that otherwise we would have been doing earlier in the week.
I am back in my preferred location where I don't have to drag my shit around so much. It was getting to me, the vast differences in location between, for instance, recycling and the library. While it is very important to me to maintain an adequate BAC at least once a day, I have to recognize that I put myself in that spot by venturing away from the sure thing. I'd like to think it is worth it.
