AC projects done!
Pretty exhausted from several weeks working nonstop. I used up alllll my schedule buffer and then some working on my first commission (the fox that went to The Netherlands), so I really had to go full bore to finish a couple things by AC. I finished this fox head, and the bodysuit, paws, and feet for this kitty! The deadline really forced me to work without constantly fussing or pondering creative decisions for days on end - a couple huge reasons that the first fox took SO long to make. I really let my perfectionism rule on that one, which is not sustainable at all. But I did learn over the last few weeks that I have the skills to produce quality without taking freaking forever, haha. Coming up after this are two fullsuits by RF at the end of September, so I have 6-7 weeks for each one. Not a lot of time, but I'm feeling much more confidant now than a couple months ago! By this time next year I'd love to be making one suit per month, which I think is doable without sacrificing quality. It's all about experience.
Anyhoo, since I've been working every day for a few weeks straight I decided to take a little vacation. I actually have a lot of projects around the house I've been wanting to take care of, but there will be plenty of real relaxation as well. Not sure when I'll start work up again, probably late next week. One of the projects is to reorganize my workroom. It becomes a wreck by the end of each project, mostly because I have way too much stuffed into the room than really fits. So a decent amount of stuff will go to the basement (and organizing the basement is the other big project) and I will hopefully have plenty of space cleared in the workroom to organize things a lot better.
Definitely missing AC right now, which I knew would happen when my twitter feed became 50% con tweets. But it worked out for the best, I had zero time to prepare for a con myself and the money saved will be going towards Hawaii :D Need to remind myself of that! Sorry furries, Hawaii > Pittsburgh. Though I really do miss people right now, I need a con to reconnect with online friends. I've learned that I start to feel kind of disconnected from the fandom, despite things like Twitter, without having that face time. But RF will be here before I know it, and I am SUPER excited for that con. So many of my favorite people will be there! And of course I'll have to organize the first Skyote fursuits photoshoot, starring Evergreen and two other fursuits, haha ;) You gotta start somewhere!
