Kickin'

Feb 17, 2008 07:20

I had been feeling this little baby girl's kicks for about a month (since January 8th...wrestling tournament at the local high school).  The kicks weren't strong enough for anyone to feel on the outside just yet...until Friday night.  I had just come home from work.  I was snackin' on the Gardettos snack mix (I love that stuff!) and then I felt pretty strong kicks.  Shilo was talking to me and then he noticed my facial expressions...so he ran over and put his hands on my belly.  I moved his hands to the spot where the kicks were, and he felt them!  He was beaming with excitement.  He finally felt his baby move!  They felt like pushes to him rather than kicks, but they were pretty strong to me.

For some reason, this little one likes to kick when I'm eatin' or just finished eating.  And when I'm trying to go to sleep.

Oh I texted my friend at the doctor's office about my glucose test results.  I couldn't stay longer to wait for the results Thursday, because I had to go back to work.  She said that I passed!  BUT I have hypoglycemia.  No wonder I was about to pass out after drinking that sugary drink.  My blood sugar was reallllllyyyy low.  So now I keep Jolly Ranchers in my new Blazer in case I feel a little lightheaded for a temporary lift, so I have time to get something (like a sandwich or a small meal) to sustain my blood sugar.  Fun, huh?  I'm hoping it's temporary, but I don't think it will be.  My mom has hypoglycemia, so I might have gotten it from her.  My mom's side of the family has a high rate of diabetes as well, so I have to watch out for that when I get older.

I got the weekend off!  It was supposed to be my turn to take care of the boarders and patients this weekend in the off hours.  The new girl kept missing work the past two weeks, and when she was at work, she was slacking off so much.  It drove Johnie and me crazy, and we had too much to do.  I worked late a lot of the days, and I worked last Saturday when this girl didn't show up.  Doc decided he was gonna make her work this weekend.  He asked me to show up yesterday morning..just in case she didn't show up.  He needed someone there to help with the appointments.  I understood that and I was willing to come.  I showed up...and the girl showed up!  Yay.  Then he said I could go home and he was making her work the weekend duties.  He's also making her clean out the stalls and a bunch of other stuff on top of the weekend duties.   Johnie & I have a feeling that when he hires someone else, he's gonna get rid of this girl somehow, because she is absolutely not beneficial to us.   I'm just glad Doc noticed that I was taking up her slack, and decided to give me a break.  I wasn't feeling that great the past few days.  I actually cried on Friday, for no reason.  Johnie told me that it was because I was tired and emotionally drained.  She had a good point.  I wasn't hungry Friday, but she made me eat some of her pizza for lunch.

Yesterday afternoon, Shilo and I went to the country fairgrounds and watched the cattle show.  Sonya won Grand Champion and Reserve Champion (1st and 2nd) with her 2 heifers.  The Black Angus was the Grand Champion, while the Limousin (another breed) was Reserve Champion.  She's always winning with her cows...I think she spends more time with her cows than any of the other kids in the show.  I love being around her cows...they act like big dogs and aren't afraid of people.  They like being petted. :)

After that, we went to Sharpe's Dept. store...it's basically a western wear store, but has some really nice stuff.  I saw the cutest cowboy boots for babies!  I texted my mom that I wanted those for my baby. :)  Then just drove around town in the blazer...stopped at a few places to look at stuff...just spending time with my honey.

Ok...that's it for now.  I gotta go get dressed for church. :)  My kiddies wanna check out the blazer. :-p
