Good Valentine's Day this year

Feb 15, 2008 06:40

Been a while since I last posted.

Yesterday was one of the best Valentine's Day I've had.  Of course, it wasn't perfect, but the things that happened yesterday made it so wonderful.

Went to work at 7:45 a.m. to help Johnie walk the dogs  (she wasn't feeling well all week, and she's kinda old).  I was so overwhelmed because the clients all came early for their appointments at 8.  And I had to give the cruciate repair (knee surgery) dog shots of painkillers and antibiotics all by myself, which wasn't easy.  And then I had to help Johnie draw blood from 2 hyper dogs for their pre-anesthetic bloodwork.  And clean all the cages.  All in the space of 30 minutes.

Shilo picked me up and we went to my doctor's appointment at 8:30 for my glucose test (I still haven't called for the results).  Had my blood drawn, then was given an orange drink.  I was told to wait one hour.  My doctor said we could do the ultrasound while waiting, so I was so excited to hopefully find out if it is a girl or boy...

It's a...

GIRL!

I even have the pictures of the girly parts! :-D I had a strong feeling that I was gonna have a girl. I had been having dreams about a baby girl. :) During the ultrasound, she was hiccuping and also did the peace sign :)

Then after that...went to State Farm insurance to ask some questions.  Then the bank.  Why?

We went to the car dealer.  Shilo had picked out a vehicle for me for Valentine's.  He knows I always wanted a small SUV with a 4 wheel drive.  He did all the work...and all I did was negotiate on the price and sign some paperwork (my dad and grandpa were car salesmen so I know how they work...).  We agreed on the price, then Shilo took me back to work.

Well, wait...what did I get?

A cherry red 2000 Chevrolet Blazer...REALLY LOADED.  Has a CD player with a cassette player (not really important to me).  Heated front seats.  Auto mirrors.  Leather seats.  And has buttons on the driver's seat where it identifies my keys and I push button 1...it moves to my specifications where I set it to be.  Pretty much everything is automatic.  Oh and the thing where it shows the outside temperature on the top of the window, it also shows how many MPG and how many miles I have left for the gas I have in the blazer...plus many other stuff.  It's awesome. AND it's got more room for the baby stuff when SHE comes. :-D

Shilo filled out all the loan applications, and worked it out with the insurance...and cleaned out my old car.  He did everything for me. :)    With the price I negotiated for the car and the blazer, we only pay $3 extra on our loan (we put it together with Shilo's truck)...and $1 extra on insurance!  So we didn't really shell out much money for the trade in!  My car was already having problems and I felt it wasn't gonna be reliable for much longer...it's an old cranky car.  We definitely can afford $4 more a month...plus a bit extra for gas.

I drove home from work in my new Blazer. :)

Stopped by my in-laws' to show 'em the Blazer.  My SIL was the only one home.  My parents-in-law were broke down in another town hauling a huge piece of farm equipment, so my BIL went to get 'em.  While I was visiting with SIL, I showed her the blazer, the pics of the ultrasound...and then she showed me her new baby calf.  She is breeding her show heifers and selling the calves to make money for college.  She wants to become a veterinarian, mainly for large animals.  The calf was the cutest thing!  It's so tiny...maybe the same size of a German Shepherd.  She's got a show this Saturday, so we might go and watch her.  She's been winning a lot of those shows so she'll make good money off of those prize heifers' babies.

My in-laws finally came home...and we all went out to the Cowskin restaurant for dinner.  It was nice.

That's all for Valentine's. :)
