It's been a long day and it still isn't over. Today we enrolled Destin in school. They've started him off as a sophomore even though he has no credits. The counsler said that he'd be in close touch with Destin's teachers and that if he did very well and the course material was too easy for him, they would move him up to junior classes. Destin has also decided to play football, baseball, and track throughout the school year. I know he's probably a little nervous but he seems excited about starting school on Tuesday. He's enrolled in Biology, Sophomore English, Driver's Education, WeightTraining, Spanish, US History, and a Computer class. If he needs extra help in anything, he'll be able to take a teacher-assisted study hall in which the teacher works with you on your homework and helps you with anything that you do not understand. He doesn't really want to wake up to be to school by 8am and he's not happy that it isn't an open campus school, but he thinks that it should be ok. Chris gave him his old backpack so we have to get him some school supplies and a few more shirts and pants but other than that he's all set.
I hope that it works out and Chris is planning to help him with whatever worries or problems he has b/c he remembers how he felt when he went back to high school after his two year break. Destin however hopes to graduate instead of just getting a GED. The counseler hopes to help him do just that and wants to do whatever he possibly can to make that happen. Hopefully, Destin keeps with his graduating hopes. He's getting used to it out here but it is quite differnt. It is much much more boring than Eugene, and every drive, is a long drive.
He's been helping out around the house even doing dishes, but not without a little complaining. Although whenever we ask him if he likes it here he gives us an, "I don't know" he doesn't really look unhappy so, we think it means more yes than no.
As for the rest of us we're doing ok. Finnegan is talking more and more and even Skylin has been saying her 4 words more often than she was (though still not much). Chris and I also start school Tuesday. I've enrolled us in the exact same classes at the exact same times, so hopefully Chris will get through this semester better. He did very well in the spring interm. I do however have to get my wisdom teeth taken out on wednesday. The dentist said i should only have to miss thursday of school but since we are in the same classes, Chris should be able to help me with anything I might miss.
We're going to be getting our marriage blessed on the September 26. It's probably not going to be a big thing but I am going to wear my wedding dress again and Chris is going to be renting a tuxedo so it should be fun for sure. How many people are lucky enough to get married 3 times in 3 years?
I will also be posting this message on the Zette's Zany Zoo for anyone who doesn't read my live journal so feel free to not read it twice.
