here The vampire diaries is mostly dimly lit. It irritates me, but here's some lighting at least.

This uses two images. The good thing about the vampire diaries' lighting is that it is so easy to cut onto a black background. A lazy cutter's dream! YAY. So I cut out her head from two different images, layered over each other. We'll start from there.
one. add some colour!
selective color:
reds; -51, +18, +55, 0
yellows; -40, +30, +64, 0
two.
hue/saturation:
master; +5, 0, 0
three.
texture:

innocent_Lexysmultiply 100% (ads light and colour, you'll see)

five. highlights!
texture: again, I make my own blur textures (see

lined so that they are parallel.
seven. blending
hide the previous three layers. copy merge. paste (and reveal previous layers). soft light 40%.
