The Big Cat Rescue, I've been really sceptical of these sorts of things. It's all about preserving the species...but what exactly are you perserving them for? To reintroduce them into the wild? That's not likely given the wild is vanishing and they're being hand reared. I think I have to side with the rescue on this. The only reason these animals are bred is so that they can be put on display for our enjoyment. End of story. And they don't tell you what they do with the cats that are born with defects or that aren't sociable or that attempt to kill their mates. (And as an aside, why is it such a mystery that the males kill the females? O_o;; Tiny cage. (Well, it is if you consider what their natural range might be.) Forced interaction. Hormones. I mean, come on. This would lead to homicide in humans, given enough time.) Yees. I'm a tree hugging liberal. [/tongue in cheek]
