I'm not straight edge. I never have been and most likely, I never will be. Though I admire Ian Mackaye for taking a stand against the nihilism that suffocated the early punk scene, his ideals have been perverted to the point where straight edge is nothing more than fanatic vegans marauding around clubs and knocking beers out of people's hands. I'm not like that because I happen to be pro-choice and I think people can do whatever they want with their bodies, whether it be good or bad.
Furthermore, don't speak to me about anarchy or being "equal". Though some reading this may think differently, I simply think it's a ploy to persuade me to give up my right to be human...therefore taking away what makes me an individual. Marx was an idiot and utopia is for empty headed dreamers. I'm realistic and I'm a conservative, meaning I have every right to do what I please with the money the government takes out of my paycheck every week. Does that seem greedy? Not especially, since I donate to numerous charities weekly out of my own wallet, even with the government taking nearly %10 off of my paycheck every week.
I believe in unity...and I believe in compromise. But I'll burn in hell before I stand up for something I don't believe in, whether it be Anarchy or what Hillary Clinton's idea of where my tax money should go.
