Sadly, LJarchive isn't available for MacOS. And I don't think I'd get very far asking the IT people at work for permission to install it on my office computer. :)
Granted, it's not the final nail in the coffin (and some of the numbers are wrong; apparently only 12 or 13 people were let go), but LJ's future appears a bit shakier than it did 24 hours ago.
I've been using LJArchive for a couple of years now, mostly as a backup because I'm paranoid about losing 8 years' worth of journal entries. Its search feature is also handy, since I don't let Google catalog my journal.
Didn't know it could do an export, however. Handy!
