post-college plans

It was brought to my attention earlier this evening at my going-away party that not even my good friends know what I'm doing. Everyone knows that I'm moving, but not much beyond that. I guess I haven’t talked about it because I didn’t want to talk too much and ended up taking it too far because apparently no one knows what I am doing

Good gods, that's amazing, congratulations.

Do you know where you're living? Or does the agency give you housing?

I'm sad that I don't get you see you before you go, it's the first summer where I'm not working in Santa Cruz for all of it and get to go back to Socal and for some reason I've been hanging out with enough vegetarians interested in visiting that I was like 'Dude! I know this amazing restaurant.'

But now you won't be there, so it's sad, but you'll be in New York! Which is incredible.

Give me a mailing address and I'll send you a belated birthday present, because I can't get you one before you leave.

the agency doesn't help me with squat. no housing or relocation assistance. i found a place in long island city (first stop outside of manhattan into queens) with a friend's friend and girl from my program. i won't be able to move in until early next month though, so i'm staying at my friend's place for a few weeks until then.

you have to go to my mom's restaurant! she's been remodeling. it's not done yet, but it's changed a lot since the last time you visited.

i sent my resume to quite a few agencies and did some networking. i also got recruited through NSAC (national student advertising competition) since i was the account director this year and one of the five presenters. and probably what was most helpful was winning an awards from the American Advertising Federation.
