Unless he decides to come earlier, Bastian will be born Saturday morning. After much deliberation--and some tears--we've decided to schedule a c-section. There are too many factors pointing toward this choice to ignore. My doc is relieved because she feels this is absolutely the right choice but thought she would have to try to convince me. She didn't. Once we learned that he is about 9 1/2 lbs *right now* AND he is once again turned sideways...I knew what the right decision was.
Yes, I am a big believer in natural child birth and less intervention by the medical establishment in general...but that does not mean I am incapable of analyzing the relevant facts and arriving at a decision that involves major surgery. Bastian's safety is paramount.
