Last baby update, then back to mostly craft updates.

You know what's been hard recently? sitting still. I have to sit still to feed baby and to pump, and during that time I tend to come up with new projects to do, but since I have to sit still so often, I can't get to any of them, and that's annoying.

I want to repaint Danny, my Bluefairy Patrick, and I'm thinking of either painting or selling my Alieendoll Dragon Rot. I have a ton of stuff to list on ebay, and I want to diy a backsplash in my kitchen, and I'm working on Trevor's halloween costume. ssiiiggghhhhhhhhh oh and I want to make myself a new wallet to match my new purse.

Another interesting thing is my weight loss.  Sure, a nearly nine pound baby was removed, plus some other stuff right away.  In total I gained 39 pounds while pregnant, and after four weeks I had lost 30 pounds, and I'm still losing about a pound a week. The internet says breastfeeding helps with weight loss, but that it takes three months to get the benefit...and What To Expect suggests I'll be fighting to lose my last 10 pounds when my baby is six months old. Sooo....Not sure what that means. I must have had some swelling during pregnancy, because seeing the veins and bones in my feet again, seeing how small my feet are, and were before, weirds me out. My stomach area is like a big empty sack that hangs out...not like fat, just emptiness. It has an overhang so I can't see my incision unless I lift my stomach out of the way and have a mirror.

Medical bills have been obnoxious. I envisioned receiving a bill between 2,000 and 10,000 from the hospital (based on my discussion with insurance and coworkers who’ve had babies recently) and getting on some sort of payment plan. No. They are all separate bills, all come at different times, and all with different payment requirements. My doctor, the doctors assistant, the drugs, the hospital room, the anesthesiologist, Trevor’s doctor, Trevor’s hospital room, Trevor’s circumcision …umm might have missed one but there were 7 different bills, totaling $4540.82. But the largest was my doctor bill, which was required to be paid in full before my first post partum visit, and the rest were so small it wasn’t worth it to question payment plans. So that sucked, but I had the money saved so I guess that’s good.

Even though I was supposed to have a checkup at 2 weeks, the dr. was booked until 3 weeks out. My incision started oozing (I thought it was bleeding, but apparently the correct term is oozing) at about two weeks, on a Saturday so I couldn’t call the doctor. That freaked me out, but apparently it’s natural and/or OK.  Oozing continued until about week 5, and Jason had to help me clean and dress it since I couldn’t see, so that was obnoxious.   My incision pain mostly stopped and I mostly stopped bleeding lochia (aka vaginal bleeding regardless of birth method) at about week 5, so I believe my official recovery took 5 weeks.

And a couple pictures - these I had Jason take for me because I wanted to see what I was hooked up to in the hospital.
