Tax season is over and I have my life back! This year was grueling, with required 60 hour work weeks from the end of january through the beginning of april, with a required 65 hour work week for the last tax season week. Some ladies only throw-up from being pregnant for the first 12 weeks, but I threw-up almost every day straight through week 20, so, basically, I threw-up all of tax season.
But now that's done!
I'm officially having a baby boy, still estimated to be born August 27th. Little Trevor doesn't have a middle name yet. I really want to keep on theme - I'm Vanessa Skye, my cousin is Sheena Star, her baby is Kami Rain, so my baby should be Trevor *something that follows this kind of pattern of nature things*. Turns out, most names along those lines are girl names! Such as: Stormy, Twilight, Dawn, Luna, Autumn, Celestial, etc. Soooo yep still thinking about that one.
I'm kind of depressed about the events I'll be missing this year - can't go to the Ball Joint Doll Convention Austin in August because I'm not supposed to travel too far from the hospital during the last month of being pregnant, in case baby comes early. And August 27th is literally THE DAY that Jason and I would normally hop on a plane to Seattle to attend PAX Prime. We did go to the Scarborough Renaissance Fair last weekend for our 1st anniversary. The weather was nice and we bought nice stuff and saw nice things. It was a good trip.
Jason and I are sorting through all the stuff in our house to make room for baby. Today I tackled my barbie collection that I'd been dragging around since I was a kid. Man, I had not looked in that tote in a while! My dolls were in horrible condition! Out of the bunch, there was only 4 that I'll still keep and 2 that are still in the box that I'll try to sell on eBay. The rest are going to my nieces; those dolls are in 'well played with' condition (and could probably use a bath.)
I also need to tackle my BJD collection - I can't see myself parting with any of the dolls (other than the one currently listed for sale), but I can see myself selling more of the wigs, clothes, and accessories. The one doll has been listed for sale for over six months now with no offers at all; I plan to list a drastic price cut with a 'PREGNANT NEED MONEY' listing and hopefully it'll get purchased and out of the way!
Jason's approach to 'making room for baby' is very different from mine - instead of looking through his collections and selling/donating pieces that don't appeal to him anymore, he went out and rented a storage shed and is moving ALL of his stuff into the shed. I'm a little annoyed that he isn't even considering reducing his collections, and it makes me feel bad that he isn't keeping at least SOME of his stuff here at the house. I'm certainly not willing to pack away everything! And I really don't think it's necessary. But he feels very strongly about it so I yielded and let him start moving his stuff.
Well, time to get back to cleaning.
