Ooooh - Tamora Pierce! When I was 10 (i.e. a long time ago XD) my grandmother gave me the first of the Alanna books for Christmas. And I was hooked.... didn't like the other series that much, but the Lioness Quartet is fantastic. I've re-read it many times...

Heh, that's about when I first read them as well... although that was only 8 years ago for me. XD I actually read the Immortals Quartet first, so I'm a bit biased towards those ones. The others have been good so far though (as, you know, something to read in a day or two XD).
