Anyone ever had a dental implant? Well that and stayed awake for it? I don't want him to miss work for me and am going to do it when the kids are in school Tuesday but today in the mail I get 4 4 page sheets to initial and sign on the risks with the anesthetics portion crossed out as I said they could just numb me. She asked if I had a high pain tolerance and I said yes which is true for my impacted wisdom teeth the just did the basic numbing of the gum line but as I read all these facts and warnings I wonder if I didn't just make a big mistake. Something in the warnings about drilling into the jawline and damage etc is a bit creepy.

Along with all the warnings was a scrip for 800 mg of Ibuprofen, 600 mg of Motrin 20 Vicodin (which I refuse to take) 30 days of antibiotics and a bottle of medical mouthwash to use for a month. Guess I didn't realize it was that drastic. I guess Tuesday they take out the owie crown, drill into the jawline and put a screw in. I already told them not to tell me if they have to put anything cadaver in me. Not to happy about the spot having to heal up and connect for 4-6 months which will make a small gap in my mouth but after a year + of constant pain and a bunch of OTC meds to keep it happy my tummy will probably thank me. Who knows maybe the warnings are made out to be scary and it will all be a walk in the park.. I hope.
