There was only so much one could do alone on a beautiful, deserted beach and Osa was finding herself at the end of that short list of things to do. A hurried text message from Asako had explained her tardiness (“sry! interview started l8 n then camera prob n then i lost my wallet but it was just under the seat ~ pls don’t be mad! i’ll be right there!!”) but that had been nearly an hour ago.

The heat, so wonderfully warm when she had first come out unto the beach, was starting to make her hair stick uncomfortably to the back of her neck. Osa was just beginning to grow her hair out, the short cropped cut now gently framing her face, but still tapering to her neck. She wasn’t quite sure if she’d be able to handle long hair again, but like everything that came with her retirement, it would be an interesting endeavor. Though, Asako often said she would look “so cute~!” with long hair. ‘I never should have shown her my elementary pictures,’ Osa mused, shaking her head.

She shifted in the beach chair, adjusting her sunglasses as her eyes drifted for the hundredth time down the beach and to the pathway that led back up to the hotel. Still no sign of Asako. This vacation had been the younger woman’s idea, taking advantage of a two week long break between shows and skillful manipulation of her schedule so that no interviews or other such engagements would interfere. ‘She must have planned this for a long time,’ Osa realized, knowing first hand just how busy the schedule of a top star was. A bit of warmth filled her at how much effort Asako had put in, just so that the two of them could meet.

"I miss you,” had been the simple explanation Asako had given her when the idea had been first proposed. ‘So do I,’ Osa thought with a soundless sigh. ‘Do you know just how much?’ It was a question Osa had never really known the answer to and had been afraid to truly ask.

Osa shook her head, forcing away such heavy thoughts from her mind. This was a time just for the two of them and it was to be enjoyed to the fullest. ‘Now, if only the mastermind of this plan were here …’

A tugging at her sunglasses roused Osa, her eyes snapping open to find Asako hovering over her with a mischievous expression that gave way quickly to childish guilt. “Asako!” Osa scolded with a laugh, taking her sunglasses from Asako’s grasp and resetting them back unto her face.

“You really were asleep!” Asako exclaimed, sitting down on the edge of Osa’s chair, her jacket brushing against Osa’s bikini clad form. “I was calling your name, but you didn’t answer.” A slight pout curved her lips. “I thought maybe Masa-chan was ignoring me.”

“Of course not,” Osa reassured her, watching the pout disappear. Then she grinned evilly. “Though, you are pretty late …”

“It wasn’t my fault!” Asako’s rose slightly in a whine.

“Sure. Just like that one interview that was supposed to end before practice but *somehow* went over the time and you ended up not coming to practice at all.”

Asako lifted her hands in innocence, though the sparkle in her eyes gave her away. “The interviewer wanted some pictures. I was just being polite.”

“The interviewer and the crewmembers and *everyone* in the audience?”

“They asked nicely!”

“More like you offered and they couldn’t refuse!” Osa countered, laughing at Asako’s sheepish grin. She remembered how exhausted Asako had been during rehearsals of that show. She also remembered just how effective Asako’s charm was. ‘Even when she’s not trying,’ Osa thought fondly, her eyes idly tracing Asako's profile as the other woman stood to pull off her jacket.

“Did you already put your things in your room?” Osa asked, noting that though Asa was still in her suit, having come straight from her interview, no bags were in sight.

“I had someone take it up,” Asako answered as she bent down to take off her shoes. “The staff told me I would find you here.”

Osa’s eyebrows rose sharply when Asako began unbuckling her belt. “Wh-What are you doing?”

Asako paused, her hands on her belt buckle. Brown eyes blinked curiously at Osa. “You don’t expect me to go swimming in this, do you? This was expensive!”

Images of an underwear clad Asako running across the beach suddenly warmed Osa’s cheeks. She quickly shifted her gaze, clearing her throat lightly as she did. “The ocean isn’t going anywhere, silly. You can still go up and change properly.” Osa hoped her time in the sun wouldn’t show her blush.

Asako just shrugged. “Too late,” she said, pulling the belt from her pants and beginning to unbutton them. “Besides, it’s just you and me here.”

Osa gave a sound of agreement, trying as much as she could to act as if having a woman strip down next to her was an everyday occurrence. Well, they had done costume changes before, but that was little different from their current situation. She spotted a flash of skin as the pants were tossed unto the next chair. ‘Just a *little* different.’

“So, um, how was the interview?” Osa asked, forcing herself not to fidget. She chose to occupy her fingers by riffling through the magazine she had brought with her, not seeing the pages as she thought and then immediately tried not to think about the woman stripping merely an arm’s length from her.

“Nothing special,” came Asako’s voice from over Osa’s shoulder. “Just asking about the last show - my favorite scenes and stuff ... plans for the next show.”

Osa forced her eyes stay on the magazine. “Have they announced the next show yet?”

“Nope, and I don’t want to think about it right now.” Osa heard Asako’s voice move, and she felt the air shift and warm above her, knowing suddenly that Asako was leaning over her. “Come on, let’s go in,” Asako’s voice urged, much too close.

‘Don’t look up, don’t look up, do *not* look up…’

“Ah, you go on ahead,” Osa suggested, swallowing hard and using all her concentration to keep her eyes glued to the fine print. “I’m just ... going to finish reading this article.”

She felt the air shift again and suddenly her field of vision was filled with Asako’s face, an interesting glint in her eyes. Osa found herself captivated, as she always was when she was this close to Asako.

“Well,” Asako said slowly, her voice low and almost sensual, “It would probably help to have the magazine right-side up.”

Osa quickly looked down at the magazine and spotted two things: one, the magazine was indeed upside down; two, Asako was very much undressed.

‘Wait.’ Osa glanced again.

“You had your bathing suit on the whole time?!?”

Asako drew back slightly, raising an eyebrow at Osa. “What,” she asked, that glint still in her eyes, “did you think I was going to swim naked or something?”

Osa clamped her mouth shut, knowing for sure the sun would not be excuse enough for the fierce blush on her face. Asako leaned in again and Osa was suddenly aware of the other woman’s perfume. Asako poked her nose. “Ecchi,” she teased.

“What!" Osa exclaimed indignantly, fighting furiously to control her blush. "I am not!”

“Oh no, the ecchi is mad! What ever shall I do?” Asako hopped off the seat, striking a dramatic pose. “I can’t possibly - ”

The rest of Asako’s words were lost in a shriek as Osa leapt up from her chair, chasing after Asako as she ran towards the water, the two of them laughing as they jumped into the waves.
