God... I didn't know someone would stoop that low to make sure he's not being badmouthed. Ok, maybe I used to do that in the past but hey, I'm just happily looking through to see what other shit they can throw. After that with that I go laugh and cry to Papa ._.
So, I was saying about this guy. He stalk my club in SGCafe, Cosplay Academy. Fine. I'll let it slide. A lurker, what's new? He read our comments about Jews. Ok, read what you want. He commented we were racist.

The thing about us Cosplay Academy is we're not legal in any way. We're an illegal gathering and that's the most basic description. To us, it's a place to relax, chat with our friends, joke and insult each other in the friendly way. Danial is a Muslim-Chinese. He lives in a private apartment. He has sound system equipment for a concert. In other words, he's freaking rich. And the richest people in the world by default stereotyping, are Jews. So we started accusing Danial of being a Jew when he was obviously not. It's sorta habit to say 'Yo Jew' to Danial whenever I see him, real life or virtually. He thinks us 'ganging' up on Danial is racist and that we have no right to call ourselves 'Academy' when we weren't a legal institution of any sort in the first place and we should not be teaching new kids these 'Jew' stuff. I mean, hello? Bento and Danial are of the same age!!! But Danial's been in Acad longer than Bento... Personal attacks against cosplayers? Everybody does that =_= Even SD who doesn't necessarily dislike people. And for anybody's uninterested info, we don't make our presence known everywhere!! We didn't hold a big sign saying 'Cosplay Academy' to recruit kids -_- Each of us has our own views regarding cosplay. I asked 3 people these questions:
1. What is Cosplay to you?
2. What do you think of people who do not make enough effort to look like a character? (e.g. face, eyes, complexion, physique)
3. And if their argue their character is perfect and without flaws?
For Danial, it's a way to show our obsession and unleashing the inner self wanting to be a character, to duplicate the character into life as accurately as possible. He thinks that people who do not look the part (won't elaborate. I'll just get carried away), he says they should try harder. and they need to cultivate the determination in their minds for that. As for people who argue that their character is perfect and without flaws and have the 'why the hell should I improve? Everybody says I'm hot and perfect' mindset, he says that if he spots any, he will give advice, e.g body training, and tell them they don't look like the character. He doesn't hate cosfuckers, he just thinks everybody should cosplay what they're capable of.
Liqing. It's something that she loves doing. She says that for fat people attempting skinny people, if they're fat they're useless. Unless they use a waist band to hold it inthen yeah, she sees effort, but not enough (you want them to use cling wrap? XD) And for cosfuckers, she'd let them be and when they get shitstormed she would say 'I told you so'.

Cosplay, in the beginning, was simply an alternative route as a anime fan that I was experimenting with. Then it became a way for me to train my social skills, financial planning, etc etc.
Now however, it has literally become my second life. I cosplay to pay tribute to characters I love, as well as interact with my closest friends (who are almost all in the cosplay scene), as well as gauge what I can do and what I can't.
2. What do you think of people who do not make enough effort to look like a character? (e.g. face, eyes, complexion, physique)
If the 'effort' in question is due to some cosmetic features such as the shape of the nose or some other detail like maybe eye shapes, I wouldn't mind as you can't demand them to undergo plastic surgery to look 'picture perfect'.
If it's the figure, I would advise the person to pick a character more suited to their physique, or start a HEALTHY slimming regime.
If it's something that is VERY easily remedied (like hair colour), now THAT, would be something you can chastise the person for.
3. And if their argue their character is perfect and without flaws?
Usually I would point out areas of improvement to them gently. If they still insist...they need a therapist for their ego I guess.
Well, for me, cosplay is a subculture, a.k.a (quote Penguin Psychology) 'an art'. No point mangling a character if I can't look the part. I cannot appreciate BAD art, even BAD music is in the list. As for people who cosfuck, I will groan, curse, swear, bitch out loud to anyone (namely Papa and group) and then officially announce my fear "The standard of cosplay is falling". I can't help it that newfags don't want to listen to advice to rectify anything pointed out by older, seasoned cosplayers, instead listening to their generation cohorts saying "it's fine, let's go". Because it makes them look stupid. As for people who DON'T WANT to improve, I can only say: their loss. So I'm not the elite when it comes to improvement comments. I'm not the ace when it comes to comparation. Wanna make something out of it? Huh? Oh, and the legalisation? Setsu ain't legalising it anytime soon and certainly not in the future. Must we be 'legalised' to teach new kids? I wonder how many of us are actually certified by NTU to teach.
