Home Annoyance

Got pretty pissed off last night.

Had things out and ready to cook...informed Piggy that I would cook, what, and showed her that I was only waiting for some meat to thaw.

I was in the middle of watching Pirates of the Carabean II (which ends somewhat disappointingly due to an expected sequel...but it's marketing entertainment).

Girlfriend calls...

I should eat without them. I said that I would cook and before I could finish she told me that Piggy had already cooked.

OK...this I had to see.

I went to the kitchen and Piggy had cooked some simple frozen vegetables with rice. Asked if I wanted to eat because the g/f and mother wouldn't be home for more than an hour. I said no thanks...pointed to the ground beef (farsh) that had recently finished thawing.

"You don't need to. I already cooked."

"I'll cook my stuff later." I walked back to finish the film from there ignoring the mousy protest.

Post-film, I returned to the kitchen. Piggy had stayed there, talked on the phone the whole time, and sat in the cool kitchen with my electric stove turned on to keep the room warm. [This practice is somewhat pointless as the heat isn't circulated around the room...it's electric and not natural gas...thus, it's really just a waste of money unless you are cooking or boiling something that will circulate.]

She was also keeping my freezer warmed apparently, as she had left the door open (while the outer door was closed). {Damned Russian refrigerator anyway and it's not frost-less/frost-proof/whatever.}

This just sort of broke the camel's back. I had had a nice day with a class, students, friends, a beer, food, home, film, and then this crap...

Unlike the usual, roll off my back and anger/annoyance going away after a little time, this time I'm mad. I was showing it a little. Apparently, no one really noticed. Girlfriend noticed along with me saying something.

The point is: I'm no longer content.

But, I did find where to buy legal versions of music and videos here at quite low prices. Even if they're copies of the legal versions, I don't care too much. Legal versions have options, language choices, extras, etc.
Too bad they don't have computer games...

Think games will be out of the picture for a while...I'm looking into the job market. Even already talked to one that I applied for. I don't expect too much, but I'm happy that they just happen to be asking me to do something that I like: writing and editing. Even better, their industry is something I know about and have some experience in (both in the US and Russia).

But, I won't get  my hopes up. I expect a process.
