Well, as I like to be rather chipper on a Friday the 13th due to my appreciation of its reality, I can't today.
I'm still sick, as I have been mostly sick for a week and very sick on Tuesday. Yesterday people believed that I needed to just stay home for a few days (everyone's suggestion). Well, I can't do that. I have a lot to do. Maybe today I will slow down..but I think I'll still try to work.
I'm already late and my brain seems to be floating in some ethereal glass jar. My body aches but I only notice when I tax it in some way. For example, say I eat, well, then my stomach notices that it's not in good shape. I've slowed down. I see that I've cut myself or bruised myself in doing something. Well, I'm not sure what, but I don't generally bruise.
Let's get real for a moment. I'm not dying or ill or in need of hospitalization. I'm just sick. It's effected me because I keep going at full speed. I understand.
The good news is that it seems to be going away. My sore throat and most symptoms are gone.
This leaves me with a cloudy mind and clogged sinus cavity. (Cloudiness could be the useless drugs treating my symptoms.)
Anyway...I need to go to work.
I have more work this evening after work.
Then a class on Saturday. :-) It's a fun one.
Anyway...as for Friday the 13th, visit here:
http://mynameisnotreal.livejournal.com/202864.html to read
mynameisnotreal's quick and easy version. If that's not enough, he adds some good links as well.
There's also a nice Discovery Channel video on the subject that gives a quite cursory explanation and coverage. I saw it's premier, but I'm sure they play it often enough that you could see it on the occasions that matter most.
I think being sick has slowed my article writing some too. While I feel bad, the editor in chief said: "Sky, you look jaundiced. You need to take a few days off and just rest." Thanks Bob.
Anyway...Talk later...
