(no subject)
REALLY hard to believe that it's only 45 degrees right now. It's so nice and I'm really cursing my sensible woolen outfit.
I was rebuffed for the graduation speaker position AND the New Students Program, which I had talked myself out of anyway. My speech was sorta on the negative/cynical side.
Now to find an apartment and a full time job. My work allergies are numerous--uniforms, annoying customers, banality, the list goes on. To be honest, WEBS (www.yarn.com) is hiring and I wouldn't mind that at all. It's not "noble" but to be honest, nothing outside of academic research appeals to me right now. Design and market research MAYBE, but since that wasn't "my dream" I'm a half-baked candiate for that.
Dorms suck and I can't wait to be out of them.
I'm on a health kick right now, and I really hope I can make it stick. Nice weather doesn't hurt at all.
Oh yeah, I finally got a grade for the independent study I handed in almost a month late. B-, which isn't bad considering the lateness. She realized that the project was overwhelming and I really should've seen that sooner. Although, I've kept up with what I started, with the colloquium and with more reasearch. It definitely wasn't wasted time.
Oddly, the two rejections don't make me feel like a loser. But I hope it's not the start of a streak or anything.
