Canonical (pre)released a new version of Ubuntu, Intrepid Ibex. I decided, on the spur of the moment, to upgrade my business laptop to the new version. My new hard drive arrived today. Last week, when I tried to upgrade from the repository, my hard drive started clicking, and the upgrade failed from I/O errors. I tried running various programs that I thought might fix the bad places on the hard drive, but to no avail. I've been working on stuff today for my church's Web site. And I've been having a problem. In my little toolbar, I have a few frequently used programs, including my IM client. Since I set up that xsession chooser, all I have to do to switch from IceWM to XFCE4 is type echo xfce > .wmrc and then run startx.
