The main good thing about today was the fact George wasn't mad at 8 when we got there. We made $5100 saturday in food alone. Can you say own? Well, friday night we sold $5700. That deserves an Own. The main thing that helped today was to get the BIG things done first; when you've got the most energy.
George told me around 8:15 this morning that we've only got 4 crab cakes to last us until whenever we make them. He then asked for me to do them then. I found it surprising that I got them done that fast, not to mention I already had the vegetables sautee'd before half the line was even set up ready to serve people. I was done with the crab cakes by probably 8:45.
Phillip came in around 9:30, when he looked at the list he was shocked to find I already did them. I told him, "yeah, that's the first thing I did today." lol, you should've seen the look on his face. I think me doing those very first today triggered getting the prep list done first. Of course, the same few things remained until after brunch, but we can't help the fact we have to wait for those. The line's too busy to let me or Phillip in to cook anything up there. It's just too small for alot of people to be up there. With me setting the mood for the day in the back, we sure did get the big things out the way first. You could tell today that Elliot wanted us to get out earlier than I did last Sunday. I couldn't leave until around 4:30. The list wasn't big or anything, it's just the fact that George kept giving me lots of BS jobs to do: nothing that really had to be done. The only thing that really aggravated me today was the shitty mood the servers were in, Trisha too. Of course, they never think hard enough to realize that they have to work the next morning. But nope, when I left last night, Trisha was with some other servers getting ready to take Jager bombs. Of course, that REALLY screwed them up. Those girls are just too thickheaded, and then they pay the next day... Bigtime.
When I walked in the door this afternoon to my house, I received a phone call from George. And yes, it's my fault he called, but he shouldn't have blown up like he did. Of course, you could tell he had been drinking, and he made it seem like he was extremely mad, but in fact, he wasn't. John told me and Phillip to remember to take the outside bar trash before we left today. Well, while me and Phillip were at Wendy's afterwards, it both clicked in our minds, that we forgot to run that trash. That's why George called me, to yell at me because I forgot one friggin' bag of garbage. That's the kind of stuff that John and George both don't want in the kitchen, not to mention the restaurant: Immaturity, and calling someone after they've already left to remind them they forgot something: not to mention the way they reminded me. That's immature. Yes, and sometimes you say WE need to grow up. Well, it'll take you longer so... You First.
