Yep, that's right. I've got one more day of work before school starts. Mayda's down this week so hopefully me, amie, her, and phillip can go do something tomorrow. I'd really like to. This evening, I received my Pearl Eliminator Hi-hat Stand. Yep, it's the top of the line hi-hat stand provided by Pearl. I opened the package, and to my surprise, one of the three extra cams, (the white one) had been cracked. It looks like this:
So I called Musician's Friend to ask if they could send me just that one cam. The guy I talked to said that the only way I could receive that piece is by sending back the WHOLE hi-hat stand so they can inspect it, and then send me a new one. All of that for one cam. So I told the guy I'd just get the part from some local retailer. Well, when I got back to my dad's house, I posted something on the Pearl Forums saying what had happened. I promptly received an email from Gene, an awesome guy at Pearl, and he asked me for my name, and address, and pearl would ship me one directly from them. After all, it IS covered by the warranty. So hopefully I'll receive that by next week sometime.
Work wasn't too bad today. George had the worst idea ever for a lunch special: Seafood (crab/shrimp) quesadillas. They were good, but they took entirely too much time to cook, and they took a lot of space. I cut all the vegetables for him to sautee', and I'll be damn, my fingers and hands started to sting and have a burning sensation. I asked George after the lunch rush about it, and he asked me if I wore gloves when I cut the banana peppers, and well, of course I didn't wear any, because I was in a hurry to get it up to him so he could use them. I must've washed my hands 15 to 20 times, and that didn't help at all. So I tried Hydrogen Peroxide, and that worked probably then best. When I got home and took a shower, the irritation basically went away. Never again will I cut banana peppers without gloves on, that was a BIG mistake. Yeah, and today, I think I made the record time for cutting calamari. I cut and portioned 5 pounds (2 bags) of calamari in 10 minutes. We didn't think there was any, and that we'd have to wait for Matthews to come, but we had two bags none of us could see. It's almost as if George pulled the calamari out of his ass. But they were hidden behind everything in the freezer. That's probably the only good thing about monday night crew leaving the freezer door open, the calamari was already basically thawed, but still hard. So I threw them in running water, and then cut them all. Yes, I owned the calamari, go me. :D
