One of my favorite lines from Office Space. Today was basically a waste. I went into today konwing that I'd have to put up with a lot of stuff at work. Especially training Robert, the dumbest, most retardedest, stupidest dishwasher ever to walk through the doors of Driftaway Cafe @ Wilmington Isl. I swear, I must've been asked a stupid question every 5 minutes. "Where is this at?" Sorry, but the first thing I did when I started at Driftaway was remembering where everything goes. (as far as food) George picked the best day to let Robert train: Truck Day. Mondays suck, because that's when ALL the trucks come in with all the stuff we used during the weekend.
The main thing that made me lose it was when George decided we needed to make pineapple salsa, a very lengthy process. I could not believe that he wanted me to do it. I mentioned to him perhaps me and him both could work on it simultaneously. He said he'd be up front frying wontons, when in this case, he had someone else doing it for him. He also told me to tell Elliot to set up the sear the tuna loin. Well, probably 10 minutes later, Elliot came back to ask me if I could cut the chain off, and put it in sesame seeds to prepare to sear it. So basically, no, Elliot didn't do it - I did. Anyway, after I asked George about helping me with it, he decided to go talk to Elliot and let him know what I said. So I'm guessing George thought it was funny for him and Eilliot to come back 5 minutes later, and for him to say "Yea, we'll make pineapple salsa a group activity just like the tiki bar trash yesterday." That was the last straw, I held back what I had to say for TOO long. Those are the types of things that aggravate me, and hate what I do. Everything else is fine. I don't mind the stress factor, because I can leave it there when I'm done, but those things, like kidding around when they know I'm not up for it, aggravate the HELL out of me. Phillip, you could agree to this, by FAR.
Yep, work again to tomorrow at 9. Hopefully they weren't that busy tonight, that way I can get home tomorrow earlier to receive my Pearl Eliminator hi-hat stand that I ordered last week. The Pearl Powershifter will be here Thursday, so will the heads. Looks like Christmas in August for me. Those are things that make this week of summer, (the last week) the best, and that I took off Thursday through Sunday before school starts, so I can get everything together, and not have to work, and then come home late at night and work on summer reading and AP physics stuff. I also found out today that the banners I was bidding on Ebay, I won two of them. But, I did manage to win the two main ones I wanted: the Pearl one, and the Sabian one. The other two banners I was bidding on can change, I mean I won't always probably use Vic Firth, and I probably won't always use Evans. More likely I will always use Evans though. But I will ALWAYS use Pearl and Sabian.
What a great year this will be, our first year as "upper-classmen", and our last year not being Seniors. *ghetto chant: "06!! WHAT 06!!* This should be a great year. I'm looking forward to it. Cheers
