Today, I had a lazy day off. I know I said there was loads to do, but a) I didn't write it down, b) I didn't feel like doing anything massive, and c) things are gonna kick off again soon enough, what with having been sent another translation to do by Monday, and the big project starting right after. I had my weekend today! Lots of reading, mainly, tho I did my exercise as well. I'll start writing a list soon too, so I don't forget stuff again.
I also got an ace parcel from Kiki, via Col's work, containing a pair of grey & fluffy wrist warmers. They're going to be great for writing work! When I first unwrapped them, I wasn't sure how such tiny things could do anything, but having worn them now for a couple of hours, I can confirm they make a huge difference to how warm my arms and hands are. And given that I often sit for hours and my circulation packs up, that's going to be a very good thing. YAY!
Which reminds me, has anyone seen any cool legwarmers lately? Don't say Camden, I've been there, and they all sell the same cheapo ones, of which I have two pairs (black & neon yellow), and which are starting to fall apart after no time at all. I found some rainbow&black striped ones in Claire's, and they might be quite good, we'll see. I'm making some blue&white ones, but I'm not knitting much atm so they're taking forever. Surely, surely there must be some about somewhere? I'm not the only one who's though of wearing them, am I?
Before you accuse me of going all Flashdance (which I re-watched when it was on telly recently, woot!), what I actually want them for is a) to wear with opaque tights (or leggings) on the bike - much handier than flappy trousers in the absence of coat-guards, and b) so I can wear skirts and dresses for a bit longer and yet not freeze. Legwarmers up to the knee are actually very effective, and you can scrunch them down when you get inside. I wear them with Converse or ballet flats, mostly, and occasionally over ankle boots too.
Maybe I just have to make some thicker ones from bigger wool, quickly, and then carry on with the blue&white ones...
