This past week has been one long snow/ice day, and not a terribly exciting one at that. Monday we had no school and Tuesday and today were cancelled because of the massive amount of ice that has covered the Austin area. Normally this would be a cause of joy, but considering that I just came out of a month-long break I'm starting to get a little stir-crazy. Monday I did nothing, Tuesday I spent playing board games (five or six, I think), and today I played yet another board game, but also went out to eat with friends. I'm actually glad we're going to class tomorrow. It's not as if we're doing much anyway: getting syllabi and class introductions don't really amount to much. Despite the rough start, I think this semester's going to be a good one.

Besides the sociable things I also got a book read and bought some music. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is an amazing read. I definitely recommend it to everyone. And since I got fifty free downloads at emusic.com I spent some time lookin' around and got a couple of really good CDs. Snow Patrol's second CD (When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up), Charlotte Martin, Neko Case, and Reindeer Section. Heard of any of them? If so, what are your thoughts? If not, give 'em a listen! And I also made a couple mixed CDs! I need to put one in the mail (SHH IT'S A SECRET) and give one as a birthday present. Does anybody want one? I'm on a CD makin' kick!

So, besides being an okay few days, nothing really major has happened, which is nice in the long run I suppose, at least in the sense that whatever major thing that might have happened could have been a tragic thing. Although having a major thing happen that is a joyous thing would be really great.

And now to drink my tea and listen to music.
