AKA: The Beatles Music Post of Doom, for no other reason than the fact that Panic amuses me, and I usually listen to The Beatles on Sundays, because it’s an old, inexplicable habit of mine.
This is how much of a huge dork I am:
I grew up on my dad’s Beatles records, and then he transferred them all to tape mixes, and for the last two years of my high school career (basically when I got my first car, the lovely Roxobbin) no music but Beatles music was allowed. I mean none. It was non-stop Beatles magic in the Skooz mobile, which was okay, because even though I chauffeured all my pals around, a good many of them were Beatles freaks, too. In addition:
* I got the entire Beatles catalog for Christmas in 94… in tape form. Which is a tragedy, because Brownstone and I had to start collecting the CDs one by one in college.
* I know all the words to every single Beatles song, and can play quite a few on the piano.
* Freshman year of college, Brownstone and I would hang do-not-disturb signs on our dorm door and refused to answer any summons during all the airings of the Anthologies.
* Our dorm was also covered with Beatles posters, and we nicknamed each other Paul and John, and, oh my god, I think I have a photo somewhere of Brownstone, me, and two of our college pals imitating
this famous pose - so Panic cannot be judged by me.
* I somehow talked my parents into paying for a summer elective in college that was an entire week of The Beatles. 8 to 4 everyday for five days. I wrote a paper on Good Night. I got an A+ and it was awesome.
I don’t think I can properly explain my love for The Beatles. They’re just awesome, and I particularly love how they all sing. And, oh my god, Brownstone and I used to quiz each other on their voices and who sings what, WE WERE THE BIGGEST DORKS EVER.
The purpose of this post? To give you a sampling of my very favorite Beatles songs. And this was SO HARD to choose, I’m telling you, because all their songs are my very favorites.

We’re going to start off with some songs off of Help! I have a weakness for everything Help! The movie was completely ridiculous and wonderful and stupid:
[MP3]
The Night Before.
[MP3]
You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away. Oh, John. Help! was during what Brownstone and I always referred to as John’s chubby period, in which he was the CUTEST THING EVER. Look at that face! Skinny!John not so much.

Ticket To Ride. At this point in the movie they’re all skiing in the Alps on these scooter things and playing in the snow. John in a cap? ADORABLE. ALSO: MOST RIDICULOUS MOVIE EVER.

I’ve Just Seen a Face.
[MP3]
Tell Me What You See.
From various other albums, including the awesome Revolver, the baffling Magical Mystery Tour, the disjointed yet genius White Album, Past Masters, Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, etc, in no particular order:
[MP3]
Girl. Oh, the part where they suck in their breath through their teeth? Geez.
[MP3]
I’m Looking Through You.
[MP3]
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown). I can totally play this one on the piano.
[MP3]
Run For Your Life. Seriously, this is a song.
[MP3]
She’s Leaving Home.
[MP3]
Getting Better.
[MP3]
A Day In The Life.
[MP3]
Yellow Submarine. THIS SONG. No matter where we were, if this song came on at a party - oh yeah, we rocked the Beatles songs at hs parties - we’d rush into the living room and dance our asses off and sing it at the top of our lungs. Oh, Ringo. You complete me.
[MP3]
Paperback Writer. The best part? The background vocals.
[MP3]
The Ballad Of John And Yoko. I can’t help but get up and shake it to this song.
[MP3]
Eleanor Rigby.
[MP3]
And Your Bird Can Sing. It totally can.
[MP3]
Hello, Goodbye.
[MP3]
Rain. I love, love, love the drumming in this song.
[MP3]
Good Night. I’m not lying, I actually wrote an essay on this song. John wrote it for his son, and Ringo sang it, and Ringo doesn’t have the best voice, but this song is perfect for him.
[MP3]
Mother Nature’s Son.
I’m a sucker for the older tracks off the first Anthology and Live At The BBC:
[MP3]
Three Cool Cats.
[MP3]
Hello Little Girl.
[MP3]
Besame Mucho. Singing this one in the car is the BEST.
[MP3]
How Do You Do It.
[MP3]
A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues.
[MP3]
Glad All Over.
Enjoy the songs! Comment if you download any, please and thank you :) Let me know if I messed up any of the links, too.
