It was National Coming Out Day on Monday, and I didn't even know it.  Jason Kuznicki of Positive Liberty wrote an essay about coming out in 1996, and eight years later, gave us a followup report.

This passage from the 1996 piece reminds me of my comment about the language of the candidates vis à vis homosexuality during the debate:
